  • Body Wapsi Sparkle Yarn - cream
  • Under wing Pearl krystal flash
  • Over wing Wapsi rabbit zonker strips, Texas cut, natural brown
  • Gill Fulling Mill red SealX dubbing

How to tie it

  1. Wrap about thirty turns of .015 lead wire in the middle of the shank and build a thread dam in front to lock them in.
  2. Tie in cream sparkle yarn at the back as the belly/body, wrap it forward, lock it and trim.
  3. Tie in six to eight fibres of pearl Krystal Flash as an underwing, reaching about the bend.
  4. Cut the brown rabbit zonker skin so it ends at about the hook bend, letting the fur form a longer tail.
  5. Make a dubbing loop of fluorescent red SealX dubbing, spin it, brush it out for gills, fold back and trim.
  6. Clean and stack natural brown deer hair and tie it in as side fins and collar, then more deer hair as a head.
  7. Whip finish, apply head cement and trim the deer hair head.
