  • Hook Alec Jackson Crystal Covert
  • Thread Red

Materials

  • Bead Red bead (1)
  • Wire, extra small Red wire (counter rib)
  • Holographic Flashabou, or holo tinsel Brown holographic flashabou (3-4 strands, body)

How to tie it

  1. Slide a red bead onto an Alec Jackson Crystal Covert hook and start red thread behind it.
  2. Tie in extra small red wire, followed by three or four strands of brown holographic Flashabou. Plain holo tinsel works just as well if that is what you have.
  3. Complete your thread taper, then wind the Flashabou up the body to behind the bead.
  4. Tie the Flashabou off and trim out the excess.
  5. Counter rib the wire forward. Counter wrapping matters with Flashabou specifically, because wrapping the same direction lets the wire slide down into the little notches between strands and disappear.
  6. Tie the wire off, helicopter it out and whip finish.
  7. Coat it with your favourite glue or resin.
