Tyer Recipe

  • Hook Standard dry fly hook, 10-16
  • Thread Brown 8/0

Materials

  • Tail hackle fibers Brown hackle fibers (few)
  • Palmer hackle Brown hackle (2-3 feathers)
  • Front hackle White/cream front hackle (1 feather)

How to tie it

  1. Tie in a short brown hackle-fiber tail at the bend.
  2. Tie in brown hackles at the bend and palmer them densely forward over the bare shank to build a heavily hackled body.
  3. Tie in and wind a white or cream hackle at the very front as the visibility collar.
  4. Build a small head and whip finish.
