Debarb the hook and lay a Brown thread base back to the start of the bend, about above the hook point.
Catch in the Small copper wire at the front and bind it back to where the body will start.
Spin a long noodle of Cream dubbing (natural fur, not synthetic, so it holds water) and dub a body from the bend forward to just behind the eye, tapering if you can.
Rib with five or six firm, open turns of Small copper wire. Catch it off, take a few wraps forward over the wire, then helicopter the tag off.
Take the thread back to the underwing point. Stack a clump of Black squirrel tail and wax the thread. Set the tips a little past the bend: one loose wrap around the hair only, a medium pinch wrap, then a tighter third wrap so the hair stays on top. Lock with a couple more, trim the butts at an angle and smooth the step down with thread.
Brush the underfur from a medium clump of Deer hair and stack it. Tie it in at the same point, tips a little shy of the hook length, with two loose wraps then tight ones. Let the butts flare forward.
Pull a third of the butts up and take a wrap at their base, then the next third, then all of them, and build the thread head underneath.
Whip finish under the standing butts (four or five turns), gather them, twist slightly and trim square to leave a significant head. Add a drop of head cement underneath and let it wick into the thread.
