Tyer Recipe

  • Hook curved scud/pupa hook, 10-16
  • Thread Tan/amber 8/0

Materials

  • Bead Black or gold bead (1)
  • Thread body Amber thread (shank length)
  • Wire rib Copper wire (1 length)
  • Antron gills White poly yarn (small tuft)

How to tie it

  1. Slide the bead to the eye, start thread and wrap to above the barb.
  2. Tie in the copper wire rib, then build a slim amber body two-thirds up the shank.
  3. Rib the wire forward in open spirals and tie off.
  4. Coat the body with UV resin for a glossy segmented finish.
  5. Tie in a short white antron gill tuft behind the bead and whip finish.
