Ice Dub Red ice dub (Small pinch for the tail flash)
Ice Dub UV pearl ice dub (Enough to dub the shank)
Rabbit zonker strip, thin cut White rabbit zonker strip (One strip, long tail)
UV resin (Solarez) Clear uv resin (A drop on the eyes and head)
How to tie it
Mount the #6 wide-gape hook and start red thread just behind the eye; centre a pair of medium white foam booby eyes crosswise on top of the shank and lock them with plenty of figure-eight wraps.
Put a drop of UV resin into the wraps between the eyes and cure it so the eyes can never rotate on the shank.
Run the thread back to the bend and tie in a small pinch of red Ice Dub underneath as a short flash tail.
Tie in a thin-cut white rabbit zonker strip at the bend, hide side down, leaving a tail about one and a half shank-lengths long; add a half hitch to hold everything.
Dub a rope of UV pearl Ice Dub and cover the whole shank from the bend forward to just behind the booby eyes, crossing over and under to fill the underside.
Wet your fingers on a damp pad, stroke the zonker hair back, pull the strip forward over the top of the body and tie it down tight right behind the eyes with several firm wraps.
Clip the hide off as close to the eyes as possible, cover the stub with thread to form a neat red head, whip finish and seal the head with a drop of UV resin.
