Tyer Recipe

  • Hook 4XL long streamer hook, 6-10
  • Thread White 6/0

Materials

  • Rabbit zonker strip White rabbit zonker strip (1 strip)
  • Mylar tubing or flat tinsel body Pearl/silver mylar tubing (shank length)
  • Bead chain or dumbbell eyes Silver bead chain eyes medium (1 pair (optional))
  • Red thread hot collar Red thread (few wraps)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread behind the eye and lay a base wrap back to a point above the barb.
  2. Tie in and wrap the pearl mylar/tinsel body forward to just behind the eye.
  3. Tie the white rabbit zonker strip down at the head, then stroke it back over the body.
  4. Bind the strip down at the rear (above the barb) so it lies flat along the top, forming a tail one shank-length beyond the bend.
  5. Return thread to the head and build a short red thread collar.
  6. Whip finish behind the eye and cement.
