- Hook standard nymph/wet hook, 12-14
- Thread Black 8/0
Materials
- Dubbing Olive/tan body dubbing (body)
- Shellback Pearl or dark flash (over back)
- Legs Brown/black biots or rubber (one pair, oversized)
- Bead Silver (optional) bead (1)
How to tie it
- Start thread at the eye and run to the bend.
- Tie in a strip of pearl/flash shellback material at the bend.
- Dub a fat, oval boatman body forward to behind the eye.
- Pull the shellback over the back and tie down at the eye.
- Tie in one pair of long oar-like legs angled back along the sides.
- Build a small head and whip finish.
