  • Hook standard nymph/wet hook, 12-14
  • Thread Black 8/0

Materials

  • Dubbing Olive/tan body dubbing (body)
  • Shellback Pearl or dark flash (over back)
  • Legs Brown/black biots or rubber (one pair, oversized)
  • Bead Silver (optional) bead (1)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread at the eye and run to the bend.
  2. Tie in a strip of pearl/flash shellback material at the bend.
  3. Dub a fat, oval boatman body forward to behind the eye.
  4. Pull the shellback over the back and tie down at the eye.
  5. Tie in one pair of long oar-like legs angled back along the sides.
  6. Build a small head and whip finish.
