Tyer Recipe

  • Hook curved scud/pupa hook, 1XL, 12-16
  • Thread Black 8/0

Materials

  • Bead Silver/chrome bead (1, sized to hook)
  • Body Silver holographic tinsel (underbody)
  • Rib Vinyl rib, clear/black (spiral)
  • Gills White uni stretch (small tuft)

How to tie it

  1. Slide the silver bead to the eye and start thread behind it.
  2. Wrap a smooth silver holographic tinsel underbody from behind the bead to the bend and back.
  3. Tie in vinyl rib at the bend and spiral-wrap it forward in even open turns to behind the bead, then tie off.
  4. Tie in a small white gill tuft behind the bead.
  5. Form a neat collar and whip finish.
