Cut a short length of Large Orange Round Foam. With a razor blade slice it lengthwise about halfway through, not all the way, so it folds over the shank.
Seat the foam over the shank curve side up, close to the front with a little hanging off the back for flotation. Bind it down front to back into an even body.
Tie in the Sunburst Orange Straggle at the rear, pull the fibres off the tie-in end, and wrap hand over hand up about halfway. Tie off.
Tie in the Fl. Orange Straggle and wrap the front half, folding the fibres back with each turn to build the blob profile. Tie off with good turns.
Tie in the Small Silver Wire and fold it back. Cut a bunch of Pearl Ice Wing Fibre in half, lay it over the thread, close the wire over it and spin it into a dubbing brush. Tease it back with a toothbrush as you tighten.
Wrap the brush as a collar until the fibres envelope the front of the fly, then stop; it does not need to be thick. Tie off the wire and keep the leftover brush for another fly.
Push everything back from the eye, clean up the head, whip finish, coat with Solarez and cure. Pick out any trapped fibres with a bodkin.
