Cut a quarter-inch strip of fluorescent red Laser Wrap on an angle, tie it in at the bend and bind it down very well.
Wrap the strip forward in overlapping turns for a slim, bright body, keeping clear of the hook point; tie it down with plenty of turns near the front.
Tie in the fine silver wire and half-hitch (a dubbing loop works if you don't have a rotary vise).
Load UV dun Ice Dub into the wire or loop, spin lightly, and tease the long fibers out downward; wrap so a soft veil hangs beneath and around the body, toning down the red. Tie off.
Take one turn only of silver UV Polar Chenille, sweeping the fibers back; tie down carefully. Don't cut the core string too close or it unravels.
Take one turn of the silver/royal blue Polar Chenille in front, fibers preened back; secure it well.
Optionally add a turn of guinea beneath as a throat for a dressier salmon-fly look.
Build a small head, whip finish, coat with Solarez and cure; then work the trapped fibers free with a bodkin and brush everything back.
