How to tie it
Slide the red glass bead to the eye; lay a thread base and wrap about 20 turns of 0.020 lead over the front half of the shank (thread under the lead keeps it from rolling).
Roll a pinch of UV2 Seal-X between your fingers, tie it in at the rear and fold it back over itself for a slender tail.
Tie in a generous length of the 0.1mm red wire at the rear. It becomes the dubbing brush later.
Tie in the maroon Magnum Flashabou, half-hitch the thread at the front out of the way, and cover the whole shank with the flash; then race the black thread back over it to the rear in wide open turns.
Half-hitch, then make the brush: straighten a very sparse amount of UV2 Seal-X, close the red wire over it and spin it tight; brush the fibers out so they stand perpendicular, and stroke them to one side of the wire.
Coat the flash body with cement or Solarez now for durability.
Wrap the brush forward in very wide turns, leave about half the shank of cranberry flash showing through, teasing the fibers back with each turn; tie off behind the bead.
Whip finish, coat the tie-off with Solarez and cure.
Put a slight bend in the hook shank so the fly undulates, and brush all the fibers back along the body.
