How to tie it
Figure-eight the 1/8 inch gold dumbbell eyes onto the top of the shank a couple of eye-widths behind the hook eye; wrap under them to tighten and add a drop of cement.
Take the thread to the bend and tie in a clump of green damsel marabou for the tail, about one shank length.
Lay two strands of dark olive UV Creepy Crawler Ice Dub along each side of the tail, doubled back. That little accent is all you need.
Tie in the iridescent blue Perdigon strip at the bend and half-hitch.
Dub a spiky body of the dirty yellow synthetic peacock forward to behind the eyes, a dubbing loop keeps the short fibers perpendicular, and pull out any loose strands.
Rib forward with open turns of the blue Perdigon strip for translucent segmentation; tie off.
Brush the body fibers out, then preen them back over the rib with your fingers.
Dub a slightly heavier, shaggier thorax around and between the dumbbell eyes with figure-eight wraps, leaving longer fibers.
Whip finish behind the eyes, then brush the thorax fibers back into a taper.
