Sport Fishing on the Fly dressing

Materials

  • Body SF White Predator Fibres, Polarflash Opal Mirage, SF Lumi Wing
  • Eyes 1/4" Red Ultra Eyes

How to tie it

  1. Lay a White thread base, leaving a generous space at the eye for the weed guard and head.
  2. Tie in a sparse bunch of SF White Predator Fibres on each side of the shank, tapered at both ends, to set the shape.
  3. Double about a dozen strands of Polarflash Opal Mirage around the thread and split them to each side so the flash envelopes the Predator Fibres.
  4. Fold a pinch of red poly bear under the shank as a throat, extending about a hook gap or a little more, and tuck it up underneath.
  5. Tie the SF Lumi Wing on top, then the glow-in-the-dark Flashabou over it. Taper the ends so nothing finishes blunt and keep it riding on top.
  6. Tie in a length of 30 lb mono right behind the eye, pointing straight down, with a few firm turns. It need not be perfectly straight yet.
  7. Coat the thread with UV resin, stand the two mono weed guards down and cure; this also forms the bottom of the head.
  8. Apply resin to each side and the top, seat a 1/4" Red Ultra Eye on each side and cure.
  9. Layer more resin behind the eyes and underneath to finish the head; cure hard.
