Wrap the 5mm Leadfree Wire around the front third of the shank, not right up to the eye, so the fly balances and rides at an emerging angle. Lock it with thread in front and behind so it cannot slide.
Take the Olive thread back to above the barb. Pinch a bunch of Olive Hackle fibres from the side of the feather, tips even, and tie in the tail.
Tie in the micro glint tinsel rib at the tail.
Tie in the SF Dirty Bug Yarn. It comes as two strands wound together; drop to one strand on a small hook. Wrap hand over hand forward into a slim body and tie off.
Advance the tinsel forward in even turns for segmentation and tie off.
Tie in a Turkey Quill slip at the front of the body, good side down, extending rearward over half the body.
Wrap the SF Straggle Legs forward through the thorax in touching turns, sweeping the fibres back with each turn. Do not crowd the eye. Tie off with a few extra turns.
Pull the Turkey Quill over the thorax, bind it down behind the eye and trim by laying the scissors flat on top of the eye for a close cut.
Build a small head, whip finish and snip. Pick the legs out with a dubbing picker so they stand proud.
