How to tie it
Slide the hot pink bead onto the size 2 streamer hook, start the tan thread behind it, and dress the shank.
Tie in the small green wire along the far side of the shank.
Tie in the wide pearl Flashabou at the front, then wrap a smooth hot pink floss underbody front to back and forward again with a slight taper; tie off at the front.
Wrap the pearl Flashabou over the floss body in overlapping turns and tie off. The pink glows through the pearl.
Reverse-wrap the green wire forward to reinforce the body and tie off; head-on, the counter-turns flash a hint of the green.
Tie two strands of sea green polar flash on top, extending about one hook-gape past the bend.
Strip a section of large mallard flank, roll it between your fingers into a slim bundle, and tie it on top with a soft turn or two so the wing extends a gape-length past the bend. On this larger size the wing replaces the tail.
Comb the underfur from a pinch of long, fine deer hair, stack the tips, and tie it in with the tips reaching the bend; take two soft turns, let it spin, and bind down the butts.
Whip finish right behind the bead and trim, leaving the hair collar fullest along the top. It slicks down beautifully when wet.
