How to tie it
Slide the large gold bead onto the size 2 streamer hook and start the thread behind it.
Tie in the large gold oval tinsel at the bend, dull side up.
Dub a fairly thick body of polar bear underfur (or a translucent substitute) from the bend to about the 75% point.
Hand-twist the oval tinsel forward as a rib under firm pressure and tie off, then pick the dubbing out aggressively and preen it back so it just veils the gold.
Tie in about six strands of greenish-gold polar flash on top, folded back so the ends reach just past the bend.
Take a loose wrap or two of red Ice Dub for the gills, then fold a strand of sili legs around the thread and set one leg on each side, sweeping rearward.
Take four large dark green grizzly hackles, match them into two pairs, and tie one pair flat along each side of the body as wings.
Cut a generous bunch of dun deer hair, comb out the underfur, stack the tips, take two soft turns and let it spin around the shank; whip finish behind the head, holding the hair back out of the way.
Trim the muddler head, full on the sides and top, very sparse underneath so only a throat of tips remains.
