How to tie it
Wrap.020 lead wire over the middle of the shank, start the brown thread at the front, and lock the lead in place with thread at both ends.
Singe the end of a piece of olive pearl core braid with a torch to fuse it, and tie the short fused butt in at the bend. Like the Peeking Caddis, that glowing butt is the trigger.
Tie in the olive midge vinyl rib, flat side up.
Dub a body of sparkle olive caddis dubbing forward to about the 80% point, letting it come off the thread buggy and translucent.
Rib forward with open turns of the V-rib for segmentation and tie off securely.
Pluck the body fibers out with a wire brush.
Tie in a short piece of extra-fine silver wire, bending the tag over so it cannot pull out, and spin dark brown Rub-a-Dub dubbing in it to make a collar brush.
Wrap the collar, preening the fibers back with each turn; tie off and trim.
Whip finish a plain, subtle head, no flashy head colors, then brush the collar back and pull the top fibers down so most of the legs sit below the shank.
