How to tie it
Start the olive thread on the Daiichi 1760 and lay a base along the gently curved shank.
Tie in a few even grizzly hackle tips at the bend as a short tail, wrapping the butts down around the curve.
Tie in the fine silver wire, then the shellback strip (sow-scud back or a strip cut from a plastic bag) at the bend.
Tie in the extra-small mono eyes on top of the shank directly above the hook point.
Dub the pale 50/50 Ligas blend from the bend forward. Build it thickest at the rear and taper toward the eye; it can be loose since it gets picked out.
Pull the shellback over the top, tie down behind the hook eye, then rib shellback and body with open, even turns of silver wire; tie off.
Whip finish, then pick out the dubbing along the underside with a bodkin so the legs taper on an angle from the head down to the hook point. Do not overdo it.
