Tyer Recipe

  • Hook wide-gape/scud hook, 10-14
  • Thread Black 8/0

Materials

  • Foam booby eyes (foam in mesh) White thin fly foam (1 pair)
  • Marabou tail Olive or black marabou (small tuft)
  • Straggle/dubbing body Olive or black chenille ice dub (as needed)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread behind the eye and secure a pair of small foam booby eyes at the very front.
  2. Wrap back to above the barb and tie in a short marabou tail about half a shank long.
  3. Tie in the body material and wrap forward to just behind the foam eyes.
  4. Figure-eight the thread around the eyes to lock everything, build a small head and whip finish.
