How to tie it
Start the tan thread and dress the shank of the size 14 nymph hook.
Tie in a small bunch of partridge fibers at the bend as a tail just under one shank-length, natural curve pointing up.
Tie in the fine silver wire at the bend.
Dub a slim, shaggy body of the hare's ear/Antron blend forward to about the 65% point. No tight noodle needed, it gets picked out later.
Rib the body with open turns of wire, brushing the spiky fibers back as you go, but do not cut the wire. Leave the remainder for the thorax loop.
Tie in a few strands of pearl Midge Krystal Flash on top at the front third for the wing case.
Trap squirrel dubbing in a loop formed with the leftover wire, spin it, thin it with a brush, and wrap the thorax forward, pulling the fibers back with each turn.
Pull the Krystal Flash over the thorax and tie down behind the eye, then fold it back over itself, tie again, and clip it to leave short sparkle tips over the thorax.
Whip finish, add head cement, then pick out the dubbing and trim any overlong fibers so the remaining straggles read as legs and gills.
