How to tie it
Cover the entire shank of the size 1 jig hook with.035 lead wire so the fly rides inverted like a jig, then bind it down with black thread.
Cut a tuft of baby blue Magnum rabbit hair from the hide, clean out the underfur, and tie it in at the bend; add a chartreuse tuft on top for a mixed tail about one shank-length long.
Tie in the steelhead blue chenille and a length of small silver wire at the bend, then wrap the chenille body forward and tie off, leaving room at the head.
Build a dubbing brush: lay clumps of rabbit hair cut from the blue and chartreuse hides into the waxed silver wire (chartreuse toward the rear, blue blended forward) with highlights of silver holographic and blue steely Ice Dub laid across the length.
Spin the wire counter-clockwise (opposite to your wrapping direction so it cannot unwind) until tight, then comb the brush out thoroughly with a coarse nylon brush.
Wrap the brush forward over the shank, preening the fibers back with each turn; tie off when you have the color blend you want and trim the excess.
Envelope the head with a pinch of blue steely Ice Dub, then wrap a hot pink single-strand floss head for contrast.
Whip finish, coat the head with thin UV resin, and cure it.
Pick out every trapped fiber with a needle so the whole fly breathes freely in the current.
