Start the Red Flat thread at the front of the shank and wrap back to the tail tie-in point at the bend.
Pinch a small bunch of Coq De Leon Dun Fibres, measure the tail, and take a turn around the back to set it. A slight flare is fine.
Tie in the Small Red Wire at the same point and throw a half hitch.
Dub the Brown Mixture Blended Wool Yarn forward, chopped very fine so the fibres are short and buggy, and build a slight taper toward the head.
Advance the Small Red Wire forward in open turns for the rib, tie off and snip. Pluck the body lightly to rough it up.
Dub a loose, sparse wisp of UV Pearl Ice Dub at the front and pull the longer fibres so they veil back mostly over the top; a little coming around the bottom is fine.
Tie in a Brown Partridge Hackle by the tip behind the eye, fold the fibres back and take a couple of turns. Bind down and snip the butt. Keep the collar sparse.
Whip finish, coat the head with Solarez Bone Dry and cure with the UV torch.
