Slotted tungsten bead (3/32")
Saddle hackle fibers Barred (from the webby base of cheap saddles) (Small pinch, tail)
Brassie wire Black wire (Rib)
Magnum holographic Flashabou Black holographic tinsel (2 strands, body)
Ultra-thin dubbing brush wire (Short piece for the collar brush)
Shadow dubbing Dark shade (Small pinch, chopped to ~1/4" lengths)
How to tie it
Slide the slotted bead onto the jig hook and take thread turns tight behind it to lock it in place.
For the tail, strip the webby fuzz from the base of a barred saddle hackle, even the tips of a small pinch of the marked fibers, and tie them in at the bend. It gives a Coq-de-Leon look with nice markings.
Tie in the black brassie wire at the bend.
Tie in two strands of black Magnum holographic Flashabou and wrap them forward as a smooth bright body to behind the bead; tie off.
Rib the black wire forward in open turns over the body; tie off.
Make a small collar brush: tie in the ultra-thin wire folded back over itself, load it with the chopped dark-shade Shadow dubbing, and spin it up.
Wrap the brush as a collar right behind the bead, tie off, and whip finish in behind the bead.
