Ice Dub Peacock black ice dub (Small pinch, thorax)
Solarez Bone Dry UV resin (Light coat on body)
How to tie it
Slide the silver bead to the eye and start the black 8/0 behind it, laying a base partway around the bend. The fly uses only part of the shank, so it fishes smaller than the hook size suggests.
Tie in the extra-fine red wire and bind it down around the corner of the bend.
Tie in the gunmetal holographic Flashabou at the rear, then build a smooth, slightly tapered black thread underbody up the shank. Flatten the thread as you go to keep it slim. Half hitch.
Wrap the Flashabou forward in really tight touching turns to the bead; a whisper of black thread peeking through is fine. Tie off and half hitch.
Rib the red wire forward in even open turns; tie off behind the bead.
Dub a small thorax of peacock black Ice Dub right behind the bead, just a little glint, trimming any long strays. Whip finish.
Brush a very light coat of Solarez Bone Dry over the body (brush wiped nearly dry) and cure it, then a dab of head cement on the whip finish.
