Bead Silver bead (7/64")
Stretch floss Grey stretch floss (1 strand for the overbody rib)
Holographic tinsel Black holographic tinsel (Medium, for the underbody)

How to tie it
Slide the silver bead to the eye and start the black 6/0 behind it, building a slight taper at the front of the fly.
Tie in the grey stretch floss right behind the bead with a couple of good turns and set it back in the material keeper.
Tie in the black holographic tinsel along the side of the shank, binding it down as you wrap thread to the rear so the body stays thin and nicely tapered toward the bend.
Wrap the tinsel forward over the whole shank as the underbody; tie off behind the bead and secure with a half hitch.
Wrap the grey stretch floss forward: take one full-tension turn at the rear, then ease off so each turn leaves segmentation with the black glimmer showing through between wraps. Grey stays the prominent color. Tie off behind the bead.
Build a small neat thread head behind the bead, whip finish, and add a dab of head cement. Do not coat the body. The floss has its own sheen and needs no resin.
