How to tie it
Wrap lead wire over the front half of the shank only. Weighting just the front gives the fly more undulation. Start the black 6/0 thread, build a small dam behind the lead so it can't slide, and bind it all down.
At the tail tie-in above the barb, tie in a ginger marabou tail. Customize thickness and length to taste, roughly a shank length.
Add two strands of flash along each side, extending just past the tail tips. Don't overdo it; the flash should support the pattern, not take it over.
Tie in the small copper wire at the rear, folding it back over itself so it can't pull out. Half hitch.
Build the rabbit brush: cut the hair from the crosscut strip (leaving the hide off lets you pack on far more hair), keep the guard hairs, and lay the butts over the waxed wire-and-thread. Spin until the fibers stand perpendicular from the wire, then set the brush aside.
Restart the thread, tie in the holographic chenille at the rear, and wrap the body forward, preening the long fibers rearward with each turn so they lay back. Tie off leaving room at the front.
Wrap the rabbit brush hand-over-hand forward at the front, preening the hair back from the wire with each turn so it all sweeps rearward; tie off behind the eye.
