  • Hook Dry fly, 2XL, #8-12
  • Thread Tan 6/0

Materials

  • Body Tan carapace (2mm foam strip)
  • Underbody Tan carapace (Dubbing)
  • Legs Barred tan rubber legs (Rubber legs)
  • Wing/indicator Orange permanent marker (Foam or poly tuft)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread behind the eye and lay a thread base back to the bend.
  2. Tie in a tan foam strip at the bend and add a thin dubbed underbody.
  3. Fold the foam forward to form the hopper body and tie down, leaving a segment.
  4. Tie in rubber legs on each side at the mid-body.
  5. Add a bright foam or poly indicator tuft at the head for visibility.
  6. Whip finish behind the eye.
