How to tie it
Cut the end of a foam cylinder at an angle and tie it in on top of the shank a couple of eye-lengths behind the eye, angled slightly up. This is the float that hangs the fly in the surface.
Bind the foam butts down firmly and dress the shank with the red thread all the way around the bend. The red must fully cover the shank.
Tie in the pearl Mirage tinsel at the rear and take three or four turns over the red-dressed bend as a butt. Tie off.
Tie in the small iridescent pearl body wrap for the rib and park it in the keeper. Half-hitch.
Dub a slender, buggy body of the rabbit/Ice Dub blend forward. A little red thread glinting through the dubbing is a feature, not a flaw.
Spiral the pearl body wrap forward as the rib and tie off. Leave the guard hairs shaggy, or trim lightly if you prefer.
Roll a small pinch of rainbow Fusion Dub onto the thread and wrap a bright collar behind the foam post, snugging it up to the eye.
Whip finish with five or six turns behind the eye and cut the thread.
Trim the foam post to about a quarter inch, and pinch the barb down.
