Materials
Prop blade Silver metal tape (1 small)
Conehead Gold cone (1 medium)
Lead wire (0.020", several wraps)
Extra select marabou Tan and olive extra select marabou (3 small sections)
Flashabou, very fine multicolor Red/green/gold mix (few strands per side)
Seal and Ice Dub blend Dark olive dubbing (loose body dubbing)
Palmer Chenille, medium Root beer palmer chenille (1 length)
Webby saddle hackle Burnt orange (1 feather)
Head cement (drop)
How to tie it
Slide the small prop blade onto the hook first, then the gold conehead behind it. Wrap a few turns of 0.020 lead behind the cone and cover with a thread base. But keep everything loose enough that the prop still spins freely.
Tie in the tail in three stacked sections, each from the long side-fibres of select marabou: tan first, olive on top, then another tan on top of that. Make the tail about one and a half shank-lengths. Long and soft so it swings.
Tie a few strands of the fine multicolor Flashabou down each side of the tail, making sure some red and green strands are in each bunch.
Tie in the medium root beer Palmer Chenille at the rear and half-hitch.
Dub a big, loose, rough body of the dark olive seal/Ice Dub blend forward to behind the cone. Not too tight; you want a shaggy transition from body to tail.
Loosen the body with a dubbing picker so seal fibres poke through.
Palmer the root beer chenille forward, about four turns, and tie off just behind the cone, then preen all the fibres rearward.
Tie in the webby burnt orange hackle and take about three turns right behind the cone as a collar. Tie off.
Whip finish tight behind the cone, add a drop of cement, and push everything back so the prop spins freely.
Finish by picking out the Ice Dub through the body and brushing the whole fly back.
