How to tie it
Cut a clean, straight 1-1/4" section of small HMH tubing and mount it on the tube mandrel. Start the white thread a little back from the front end.
Tie a folded bunch of white coarse Flash 'n Slinky under the tube for the belly, extending well back. Fold each cut length in half so one piece gives two bunches.
Tie a bunch of fine tan Flash 'n Slinky on top.
Move ahead slightly and add the fine brownish gold, teasing the butts back with a scissor blade to keep the taper.
Tie the coarse brown Flash 'n Slinky on top for quick bulk and shape, then taper the blunt edge back with the scissor blade.
Underneath, add a short tuft of shrimp pink Laser Dub at the throat, teased back. Never straight-cut it.
Add silver minnow belly Laser Dub in two small tufts, one off each bottom corner, for a flatter belly that rides level.
Fill the sides with a tiny yellow Laser Dub accent on each flank, with a wisp over the top.
Top with a couple more strands of brown plus a few strands of fine black Flash 'n Slinky, keeping thread tension as you work back. Finish the head, whip finish, coat with Solarez Bone Dry, and cure.
Glue a Mirage prism eye on each side with JB Super Weld, pupils facing slightly forward.
Push the short piece of flex tubing onto the rear of the tube as the hook junction.
