Collar UV2 Seal-X Burnt Orange & Brown Angora Goat blended
How to tie it
Blend the collar first: equal parts UV2 Seal-X Burnt Orange & Brown Angora Goat blended in a coffee bean grinder, run through twice for an even mix. The brown darkens the orange into fiery brown.
Slide the slotted tungsten bead onto the jig hook, small side forward. Start the 6/0 Black thread, wrap to the rear, and level the shank.
Take a pinch of Burnt Orange Marabou from a soft plume and tie in a sparse tail with a turn or two. Bind the butts forward to behind the bead with a couple of loose turns, then trim, so the body lies even.
Tie in a long length of Small Copper Wire along the side of the shank.
Behind the bead, tie in two strands of Cranberry Magnum Holographic Flashabou and half-hitch.
Wrap the Flashabou rearward to the tail and then forward again to the bead for a flat, even body. Half-hitch to hold everything in place.
Reverse-wrap the copper wire forward and tie it off behind the bead with another half-hitch. Do not cut it.
Take a wee pinch of the fiery brown blend, trap it in the copper wire, and spin it into a snug dubbing brush. Scruff it down, thin it out, and pull the fibres off to one side.
Come back off the bead slightly and take two turns of the brush, then pull the wire down tight along the shank behind the bead. The wire snugs the collar and bead so they cannot move.
Sweep the collar back with a stiff brush, keeping it very slender so the holographic body and rib still show through when wet.
