How to tie it
Blend the collar dubbing first: equal parts burnt orange UV2 Seal-X and brown angora goat through a coffee grinder (run it twice for an even mix), this darkens the orange into a proper fiery brown.
Slide the Red Glory slotted bead onto the jig hook, small side forward, and seat it. Wrap the black thread to the bend and level the shank.
Tie in a sparse pinch of burnt orange marabou at the bend for a tail about one shank-length. Take a turn or two, then bind the butts forward to the bead with a couple of loose turns before trimming so the body stays level.
Tie in about eight inches of small copper wire along the side of the shank.
Tie in two strands of cranberry Magnum Holographic Flashabou behind the bead and half-hitch.
Wrap the Flashabou back to the tail and then forward again to the bead, front to back to front for a flat, even body. Half-hitch.
Reverse-wrap the copper wire forward in open turns and tie off behind the bead, but do not cut it.
Take a wee pinch of the fiery brown blend, trap it in the remaining wire, and spin a short, sparse dubbing brush. Scruff and thin it before wrapping.
Take two turns of the brush just behind the bead, then pull the wire down tight along the shank. The wire snugs the whole collar and bead solidly in place. Trim the wire.
Tie off, whip finish, and sweep the collar back with a stiff brush. Keep it slender so the holographic body glows through when wet.
