Arizona Synthetic Peacock dubbing Caddis green (body)
Arizona Synthetic Peacock dubbing Dark hare's ear (thorax)
Uni Mylar #10 Copper/blue uni mylar (1 strand (wing case))
Head cement or UV resin Clear uv resin (drop on head and wing case)
How to tie it
Start the olive thread and tie in the green Micro Metal down at the rear of the curved shank; half-hitch.
Dub the caddis green synthetic peacock forward from the bend, building a slight taper toward the front and stopping short of the eye to leave room for the thorax.
Spiral the Micro Metal forward as an open rib and tie off. It nearly blends with the body dry, but shows clear segmentation once the body is brushed out and wet.
Tie in the #10 copper/blue Uni Mylar at the front of the body, blue side up, so the copper face shows when pulled over as the wing case.
Dub a rough, loose thorax of the dark hare's ear synthetic peacock. Do not pack it tight; those loose fibres become the legs.
Brush the thorax fibres out and downward.
Pull the Mylar wing case over the top of the thorax and tie it off firmly behind the eye.
Whip finish, then put a drop of head cement or resin on the head and along the top of the wing case.
Give the underside a final brushing so long fibres trail off the bottom of the thorax.
