Slide the Togens 5/32” FL. Chartreuse bead onto the jig hook and seat it. Start the 6/0 Black thread and lock the UTC Brassie Black wire right onto the shank, binding it back to the bend.
Take a Black Marabou plume, strip the fuzzy stuff from the bottom, and peel a small clump from the side. Tie it in at the bend as a slender tail and bind the butts forward right to the bead.
Tie in two strands of Black Magnum Holographic Flashabou behind the bead.
Wrap the Flashabou back to the rear and forward again to the bead. Front to back to front gives a level body with no gaps. Half-hitch behind the bead.
Check that no marabou fibres are trapped forward, then reverse-wrap the brassie wire forward in open turns for strength. Do not cut it.
Take a small pinch of Spirit River UV2 Seal-X Black and trap it between the wire and the thread. Tighten, pull it off your fingers so it has some length, and spin it into a short brush.
Take a couple of turns of the brush, one behind the last, without crowding the bead. Keep it sparse.
Tie off the wire and the thread with good turns, whip finish, and glue the head with resin or head cement.
Sweep the collar fibres back and straighten them with a stiff brush.
