How to tie it
Dress the shank. Tie the bright green Antron yarn in along the top so a sparse portion trails behind the bend as the shuck/tail, thin it by pulling out a good number of fibres first, then bind the rest back over itself so it can later be pulled forward as the overbody.
Tie in the green Micro Metal at the rear for the rib.
Dub a rough, buggy body of the golden tan Antron dubbing over the rear two-thirds - LaFontaine used touch-dubbing for exactly this trapped-air effect, so do not make it pretty.
Take big, wide open turns of the Micro Metal forward through the body and tie it back over itself so it cannot pull free.
Go over the body with a dubbing picker and pull the Antron fibres out all around so the body is properly shaggy. The rib will still show through when wet.
Pull the Antron yarn forward over the body loosely, do not stretch it tight, and push it back slightly so it balloons into a bubble that envelops the sides and top of the body. Tie it down at the front.
Stack a small bunch of the very short-tipped comparadun deer hair, and tie it in over the top with a soft loop so the fine tips lie back over the body. Trim the butts.
Cover the trimmed butts with thread and dub a fairly generous thorax of the dark brown sparkle dubbing.
