Slide the coffee brown slotted bead onto the jig hook, seat it at the eye, and take a few wraps of 0.020 lead wire tucked in behind the bead. Start the brown thread and lock everything down.
Tie in a fairly sparse bunch of partridge fibres at the bend for the tail, about half a shank-length, and bind the butts down.
Tie in the 0.3mm March Brown wire at the rear.
Tie in the cinnamon Gel-Core Micro Fritz at the rear and wrap it forward in touching turns, stopping short of the bead to leave room for the thorax. Tie off.
Reverse-wrap the wire forward in nice wide turns for segmentation. It also tones down the sparkle of the fritz just enough. Tie off and wiggle-break or trim the wire inside the scissor blades.
Tie in the copper brown Straggle String at the back of the thorax area and wrap it forward to the bead, stroking the fibres rearward with each turn so you get long, flowing UV legs.
