Slide the hot pink bead onto the hook and seat it at the eye. Start the hot pink thread and run it to the bend.
Dub a small tuft of fluorescent hot pink Ice Dub at the bend so it will sit underneath the tail as a strike trigger.
Cut a bunch of hair from the crosscut rabbit strip, keeping the nicely marked dark tips. Tie it in over the Ice Dub as a tail about one shank-length long.
Tie in the Dirty Bug Yarn at the rear, directly above the barb point.
Wrap the yarn forward in touching turns to behind the bead and tie it off.
Tie in the extra-fine wire, folding it back over itself so it cannot pull out.
Cut more rabbit hair from the hide, slightly shorter than the tail so the collar does not overpower the fly, and lay it along the thread with a small pinch of hot pink Ice Dub so the flash just peeks through. Wax the wire, trap the hair, and spin it into a brush (dubbing loop or dubbing block if you tie on a standard vise).
Wrap the hair brush as a collar behind the bead, brush it out with a dubbing picker so the Ice Dub shows through underneath, and trim any excess.
Whip finish behind the bead and apply a drop of head cement.
