How to tie it
Slide the small black conehead to the eye and wrap 10 turns of 0.010 lead behind it, tucked into the cone.
Start the thread, run a base to the bend, and tie in a little pinch of Deep Leech Semi Seal as a short tail.
Tie in the extra-fine wire at the bend, folded back over itself.
Spread a very sparse layer of Deep Leech Semi Seal between thread and wire and spin it into a slim dubbing brush. Stop when the wire starts fighting back.
Pull the stray fibers off to the sides, then wrap the brush forward, preening the fibers rearward with each turn, until color covers the shank to behind the cone.
Tie off the wire and thread behind the cone and comb the body out. Sparse is right; it thins further when wet.
Dub a loose collar of peacock black Ice Dub behind the cone, letting some fibers stray back over the body for a two-tone effect.
