UV resin (Solarez Bone Dry) Clear uv resin (under the eyes)
How to tie it
Make the eyes off the vise: thread two small glass beads onto 25 lb mono, burn each end with a torch so the mono melts back into a ball against each bead, and blow it out at the bead.
Start the olive thread and X-wrap the bead eyes on top of the shank behind the hook eye.
Tie in a fairly thick clump of soft olive blood-quill marabou at the bend for the tail. It slims right down when wet, and trim the butts.
Add a tiny pinch of dark olive UV Creepy Crawly ice dub at the tail base as a highlight.
Tie in the uni-mylar at the bend copper-side-up (so blue shows when wound), then tie in one barb of olive ostrich herl.
Wind the ostrich herl forward to just behind the eyes as the body and tie it off.
Rib forward with open turns of the mylar, blue side out, and tie off. Damsels want a hint of blue.
Tie in the 1/8" light olive scudback behind the eyes, take the thread to the hook eye, and take a turn of scudback material there as well.
Cut a slip of light olive pheasant rump fibers to leg length and tie one along each side of the thorax (or underneath if you prefer).
Pull the scudback strip over the top of the thorax and between the eyes, tie it down, and trim so the tag forms a small V on top; whip finish and cement, then run a little Bone Dry under the eyes.
