How to tie it
Slide the 3/32" silver bead on small-end-first so the bevel faces the rear (the flat thread head will still slide under it on a 16).
Start the flat thread at the front and tie a small tuft of white Antron on top of the shank ahead of the bead for the gills; whip finish that tie-in.
Trim the Antron gills level with the hook eye.
Behind the bead, start building a slight taper with thread, then tie in the fine silver wire and the cranberry Magnum flashabou, binding both back around the curve of the shank; take a half hitch.
Wrap the flashabou forward to the bead, keeping a gentle taper, thicker toward the thorax, and take a half hitch.
Counter-rib with evenly spaced turns of the silver wire and tie off.
Whip finish behind the bead.
Coat the body with Bone Dry UV resin and cure it, the thin coat suits small chironomids and makes it nearly indestructible.
