Tyer Recipe

  • Hook curved scud/pupa hook, 10-16
  • Thread Black 8/0

Materials

  • Bead Copper bead (1)
  • Thread body Black thread (shank length)
  • Copper wire rib Copper wire (1 length)
  • Antron gills White poly yarn (small tuft)

How to tie it

  1. Slide the copper bead to the eye, start thread and wrap to above the barb.
  2. Tie in the copper wire rib, then build a slim thread body two-thirds up the shank.
  3. Rib the wire forward in even open spirals and tie off.
  4. Coat the body with UV resin for a glossy segmented finish.
  5. Tie in a short white antron gill tuft behind the bead and whip finish.
