How to tie it
Slide the glass bead to the eye and start the rusty brown thread behind it.
Tie in the extra-fine red wire and take it out of the way to the rear.
Tie in the light brown stretch floss and bind it down to the bend.
Tie in four strands of the copper holographic flashabou at the bend, stretched down tight so the underbody stays razor thin. Sparse and slim is everything on chironomids.
Wrap the flashabou forward to the bead with a slight taper and tie it off with a half hitch.
Wind the stretch floss forward in open turns as the main rib, then follow the same path with the fine red wire for the accent, and tie both off.
Whip finish behind the bead and cement (or leave clean. The fly is unweighted).
