Tyer Recipe
- Hook jig nymph hook, slotted tungsten bead, 12-16
- Thread Olive or brown 8/0
Materials
- Slotted tungsten bead Gold or copper slotted tungsten bead (1)
- Coq de Leon or hare guard fibers Natural hare s ear dubbing (tail)
- Wire Copper wire (rib)
- Hare's mask dubbing Natural hare s ear dubbing (body and thorax)
- CDC Natural grey CDC (collar)
How to tie it
- Slide the slotted bead onto the jig hook and start the thread behind it.
- Tie in a short tail of coq de leon or hare guard fibers at the bend.
- Tie in copper wire for the rib.
- Dub a tapered hare's mask body forward, stopping short of the bead.
- Counter-wrap the copper wire rib forward and tie off, then pick out the dubbing to a buggy texture.
- Tie in a CDC feather and take a couple of turns for a soft collar behind the bead.
- Form a small collar of hare dubbing if desired, then whip finish behind the bead.
