Cover the shank with rusty brown thread down into the bend.
Tie in the small pearl tinsel at the bend for the rib.
Dub a slim, tapered body of synthetic peacock (thin at the back, building slightly toward the front) and trim any wild fibers; a little bugginess gives translucency.
Wind the pearl rib forward in open turns so the segmentation shows, and tie it off.
Tie in about six pheasant tail fibers on top at the front third, tips pointing back over the body, and bind the butts down (trim them off).
Roll a tight pinch of peacock Ice Dub onto the thread and dub a compact thorax. Keep it in proportion on this small hook.
Pull the pheasant tail fibers over the thorax as a wing case, then divide the tips in half and sweep three or so to each side as legs, binding them down and slightly back.
Build a neat head and whip finish; trim the legs to three per side if any are unruly.
