Wrap 0.035 lead-free wire the full length of the shank and bind it down tightly with the flat waxed thread at both ends so nothing rolls.
Tie in four large white saddle hackles at the bend, two per side folded together. The stiffer hackle tail keeps the fly from over-swimming and fouling.
Tie a generous clump of light purple Krystal Flash along each side, reaching to the end of the hackle tail.
Comb the underfur out of all the craft fur with a bone comb first. Stack two small pieces of white craft fur on top at the rear and tie them in.
Tie in the pearl minnow body wrap with fibers pointing back and take a turn or two forward under heavy thread tension, combing the fibers back as you go.
Add another piece of white craft fur on top (leave some underfur in for bulk), then advance the body wrap a turn.
Tie light blue craft fur into the top corners (far side and near side) for the lateral accent, then advance the body wrap again.
Tie light olive craft fur along the top, wrap the body material another two turns, then add dark brown craft fur on top toward the front, building the body up as you go.
Tie in the barred brown/tan faux fur on top at the front, butts trimmed even, then take one and a half to two more turns of body wrap and tie off behind the eye.
Whip finish, coat the head with UV resin and cure, then glue a 7/16" prism eye to each side with a dollop of Marine Goop.
