Mirage flashabou, saltwater (wide) Opal/pearl flashabou (1 strand under the shellback)
Ken Legus translucent dubbing (body) Golden stone or medium hare's ear (as needed)
Goose biots (legs/paddles) Ginger goose biots (1 per side)
UV resin (Solarez Bone Dry) Clear uv resin (1 drop on the back)
How to tie it
Start the red thread and run a base to the bend.
Tie in the mottled oak thin skin strip at the bend, dull side up (so the shiny side shows when folded over).
Tie in the wide saltwater Mirage flashabou on top of the thin skin. It will sit underneath the shellback for a subdued glimmer.
Dub the rear half of the body with the translucent dubbing, keeping it buggy.
Tie in one ginger goose biot along each side at mid-shank, curving outward and rearward so the tips reach just past the bend. Take plenty of turns so these swimming legs can't pull out.
Dub the front half of the body, keeping the translucent, air-bubble look; buggier is better.
Pull the Mirage flash forward over the top, then fold the thin skin over it as the shellback, and bind both down behind the hook eye.
Build a small red thread head and whip finish.
Put a small drop of Bone Dry UV resin on the shellback (keep it out of the hook eye) and cure it.
