Start the 6/0 Blue thread at the front of the shank. Place the Small Black Mono Eyes up near the hook eye and X-wrap them on, then run the thread to the rear.
Cut a length of the Blue Damsel Dry Fly Polyyarn twice the finished body length and tie it in securely at the rear.
Furl the body: twist the yarn very tightly, then double it over on itself. When you slack the tension it wraps around itself and looks braided. Bind the free end down at the rear tie-in point.
Bring the thread forward to behind the eyes. Tie in the Parachute Foam post, cut the butt at an angle, and bind the butts down. Take a turn behind the post to stand it up.
Prepare a Grizzly Saddle Dry Fly hackle (a little web at the base is fine) and tie it in at the base of the post.
Tie in the White Antron Yarn for the wing. Split the strand and use only part of it. Pass the yarn underneath and X it between the eyes on top, then back up the other side. Trim it off right at the top so the bottom has the shape you want; the underside profile matters more than the top.
Put a generous amount of Solarez Bone Dry all the way around the thread post. Wind the hackle down the post parachute-style through the wet resin, then hit it with the UV light to cure. The resin holds the hackle, so no tie-off wraps are needed.
Cut the thread off in one swoop. Trim the wing a little shorter than the tail, then split it with a bodkin so it lies back over the body like the natural.
