How to tie it
Lay a thread base along the shank.
Pinch a generous bunch of red saddle hackle fibers, tips even, and tie in a tail about one shank-length long (a touch longer looks fine); bind down the butts and trim the excess.
Tie in the hot orange wire along the top of the shank so the underbody stays level.
Tie in the mylar tinsel at the front at an angle, gold side up; wrap it to the rear in touching turns, then back over itself to the front, so the body finishes even and silver side out, and tie it off with a half hitch.
Counter-wrap the wire rib forward in evenly spaced turns and tie it off.
Tie a pinch of dark dun grizzly fibers in at the throat: catch them along the near side, roll them under the shank, and add a second pinch from the other side so a full beard reaches toward the hook point.
Tie in a small clump of light blue polar flash on top as an underwing.
Fold and roll a blue guinea fowl slip between your fingers, set it on top so it reaches the end of the body, pinch it up between finger and thumb, and pull the thread straight up to seat it without rolling.
Build a neat head, whip finish 3-4 turns, and coat the head with UV resin.
