Tyer Recipe

  • Hook 1XL nymph hook, 12-18
  • Thread Black 8/0

Materials

  • Bead Black or copper slotted tungsten bead (1)
  • Tail fibres Black/pheasant (small bunch)
  • Dubbing or thread body Black dubbing (as needed)
  • Wire rib Silver wire (1 length)
  • Flashback (pearl tinsel) Pearl flashabou (1 slip)
  • Thorax dubbing Black dubbing (pinch)

How to tie it

  1. Slide the bead to the eye, start thread and wrap to above the barb.
  2. Tie in a short tail and the wire rib.
  3. Build a slim body two-thirds up the shank and rib the wire forward, then tie off.
  4. Tie in a strip of pearl flash for the flashback and dub a thorax behind the bead.
  5. Pull the flash over the thorax and secure behind the bead.
  6. Whip finish and cement.
