How to tie it
Mount the curved hook and start olive thread; figure-eight a pair of small olive mono eyes just behind the eye of the hook, then run the thread to the bend.
Tie in a generous clump of golden olive hackle fibers as the tail and bind the butts down; trim any excess.
Tie in the x-small silver wire rib at the bend and throw in a half hitch.
Fluff the Arizona Golden Peacock dubbing (a quick spin in a coffee grinder loosens the compacted short fibers so they take to the thread), then dub the body forward with a taper. Use a dubbing loop if you don't have a rotary vise, as the short fiber is hard to dub.
Continue the dubbing right up to and around the mono eyes with figure-eight wraps, no shellback needed.
Spiral the wire rib forward to the hook eye in open turns for segmentation and tie it off.
Whip finish behind the hook eye.
Brush the body back with a small brush to remove loose fibers and sweep everything rearward.
